Båtsfjord is located in the northern part of Varangerhalvøya and is a small settlement with over two thousand permanent residents, the main activity is processing fish that is caught in the waters of the Norwegian and Barents Sea. Båtsfjord is one of the largest fishing port in Norway and one of the largest fishing port in Scandinavia.
The services of pilots and the safe communication of ships in the Båtsfjord Harbor are provided by the Harbor Master’s Service, which includes the following structures: vessel traffic service, port control service, pilotage service and a group of pilot vessels. In the pilotage service there are group with highly professional pilots with many years of experience in the port.
